Waste of time
Well that interview was the most soulless waste of my time. Fly all the way up here, get my hopes up, to basically get my experience dismissed since I dont have civil trial experience. I’ll put in more details later. Back to the toilet!
Firms expect you to do research on them before going into the interview. Looks like they hold themselves to a different standard by not researching you. Why be a part of a company that will overlook fundamental information? It’s their loss!
Law is a waste of time, for those of us not seriously connected to the industry. Maybe the employer was bored and wanted to get some kicks – I mean, they apparently did not pay for your flight or meals. They also know that there are so many unemployed and desperate attorneys out there. Just look at the Craig’s List ads, where law firms want to pay experienced litigators/attorneys $15 an hour.
I hope you post more on this story. This is disgusting conduct, on the part of law firms and the industry as a whole.
